Belmond La Residencia sits above the village of Deià on the north-west coast, built around two old manor houses and their gardens. Weddings use the lawns and terraces with the mountains as backdrop for the ceremony, the gardens and courtyards for drinks and dinner, and the hotel's indoor spaces when the evening goes on. It is an intimate venue rather than a grand ballroom — which suits an acoustic ceremony and a well-placed band.
For music, La Residencia is about proportion: a solo voice or a duo on the lawn, a trio for the cocktail hour among the trees, and a compact band or DJ for the party in the space the hotel assigns for it. Deià, like the rest of the Tramuntana, keeps outdoor music short late in the evening; we plan around that from the first conversation.
