The Venue

Son Marroig for Weddings

Son Marroig was the home of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, who bought the estate in the 19th century and built the neoclassical temple of Carrara marble on the terrace overlooking the sea. Today the house is a museum, the gardens and terraces host weddings, and the view of the Sa Foradada rock at sunset is the reason most couples choose it.

Musically, Son Marroig is a ceremony-and-sunset venue first. A single voice at the rotunda, carried by the wind off the sea, is as strong as it gets; the terraces suit an acoustic set during drinks. For the evening, we plan the sound around the estate's guidelines — and, like most Tramuntana venues, around the fact that outdoor music late at night is limited.

Ceremony at the rotunda

Wedding singer with acoustic guitar or a string-and-voice duo. Battery-powered, discreet amplification so the voice reaches the last row without a visible PA next to the marble.

Cocktail on the terraces

Acoustic trio or singer with guitar while the sun drops behind Sa Foradada. This is the hour to keep the music soft and the view loud.

Dinner

Jazz standards, bossa nova and soul ballads between the courses; wireless microphones for the speeches.

Evening

Band or DJ set planned to peak early and end on time, with a seamless option to continue at your after-party location in Deià or Sóller.

Logistics

What We Take Care Of

Access to Deià is via the coastal mountain road; we plan arrival and load-in with the estate and your planner — no surprises on the day.
Equipment is sized for the terraces: compact, elegant, and set up before guests arrive at the rotunda.
We are used to the wind on the cliff: microphones, stands and sound placement are chosen for it.
Mallorca-based, so no flights, hotels or travel days on your invoice.

Live Music at Son Marroig

Yes — it's one of our favourite settings on the island. We use minimal, battery-powered amplification so nothing distracts from the temple and the view, and we coordinate timing with your celebrant so the music lands exactly on the walk-in, the signing and the recessional.

Son Marroig is primarily a ceremony, cocktail and dinner venue; outdoor music in the late evening is restricted, as almost everywhere in the Tramuntana. We plan the evening to peak early and, if you continue elsewhere, can bring the same team and sound to your after-party venue.

We have performed at Son Marroig and work with the planners who book it regularly. We coordinate sound levels, set-up windows and end times directly with the estate.

Solo singer or duo for the rotunda, acoustic trio for the sunset drinks, singer with piano or a jazz trio for dinner. Save the full band or DJ for the after-party location if you want a long dance floor.
